In the Chain of Custody, Janutol Printing supports the principals of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Your purchase of FSC - certified paper and printed products, contributes to conservation, responsible management and community level benefits for people near the forest that provide your paper.

In many forests around the world, logging still contributes to habitat destruction, water pollution, displacement of indigenous peoples, and violence against people who work and the wildlife that dwells in the forest. Many consumers of wood and paper, and forest products companies believe that the link between logging and these negative impacts can be broken, and that the forest can be managed and protected at the same time. Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification is one way to improve the practice of forestry.

Just like other forest products, in order to use the FSC logo as an “environmental claim” on paper, the product must have flowed through the FSC “Chain of Custody” from the FSC-certified forest, to a paper manufacturer, merchant and finally a printer who all must have FSC Chain-of Custody certification.

By selecting papers and printers that have been certified by the Rainforest Alliance's SmartWood program, for meeting the strict standards of the Forest Stewardship Council, your company can demonstrate its commitment to responsible forest management and sound business practices.

Janutol Printing uses Soy Oil Printing Inks.

Soy inks are one of the solutions to the environmental health and safety concerns of the printing industry. They are low in VOC's compared to petroleum based inks, there by reducing emissions that cause air pollution. The ink's resins, reducers, drying oils are refined from renewable resources and eliminate the need for petroleum based products in the printing inks.

Janutol Printing is a Michigan Great Printer.

Michigan Department of Environmental Quality sponsors the Michigan Great Printer program. The mission
is to promote pollution prevention as a standard practice of the printing industry.  The program stresses pollution prevention as the preferred method of achieving environmental compliance.  Recycling paper, recycle aluminum printing plates, and the use of low VOC solvents are all effective ways to prevent pollution of our environment.

This is another way Janutol Printing is reducing our carbon footprint.

Detroit Edison’s GREEN CURRENTS Renewable Energy Program supports the development of Michigan based power that will be generated from renewable sources such as wind, sun, biomass and other environmentally friendly sources.
